The Opportunity Your Impact Starts Here – As a Laboratory Technical Lead – High Complexity Soils , you will lead geotechnical laboratory operations and act as the technical authority for high complexity soils . You will guide advanced testing, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality, compliant results that support critical infrastructure and development projects. Your Impact Lead geotechnical laboratory operations, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation Serve as the SME for high complexity soils , guiding testing and interpretation Oversee laboratory testing programs (soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete) following ASTM, CSA, AASHTO, and CCIL standards Review and validate complex geotechnical data and technical reports Maintain QA/QC processes, lab certifications, and calibration records Support project delivery including budgeting, reporting, and client coordination Mentor junior and intermediate staff, fostering technical growth Ensure compliance with health and safety standards Participate in audits, correlation programs, and continuous improvement initiatives Build strong client relationships and collaborate across WSP teams The Skills That Set You Apart Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent 8–10+ years of geotechnical laboratory experience Mandatory: strong experience with high complexity soils Proven leadership experience in a lab environment Strong knowledge of ASTM, CSA, AASHTO testing standards Experience with CCIL certification and QA/QC systems Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Valid driver’s license Ability to work in lab environments and lift up to 25 kg Why Choose WSP?
