Job Title: KBE Engineer Location: Windsor, Ontario, Canada The person needs to be a self-starter for sure, needs to be able to follow our knowledge-based engineering standards that we have for modelling. So we use a feature-based modelling design system within NX, which we can roll out to the successful candidate as and when that comes about. They will also be required to do some. Basic NX courses. We run one called robust engineering, robust modelling within NX, which gives the basic fundamentals of how we go about modelling. But then there's a further instruction that we can give for actual specific requirements for doing body panels. As a general rule, the closures engineer generally looks after either the front door or the rear door or the hood and fender or the liftgate system. So they're kind of generally self-contained. The body shell team is generally made up of eight plus engineers who have to work in a coordinated fashion to produce the actual body shell structure itself. Now, there are a lot of requirements to get the body shell where it needs to be. It means working with the PDO team, the kind of studio team for styling, to make sure that the styling that we receive kind of gets put back into the box and works functionally from an engineering point of view. So you have to work with the PDO. You will also need to work with the stamping team for stamping simulations and go through an initiative process to be able to get the stamping to a green simulation point. You will also need to work with the advanced manufacturing engineering team who are responsible for vehicle engineering. They define the way the vehicle is put together, which is very plant specific And you will also need to work with our CAE teams for impact and MVH. We go through various meetings to try and get the vehicle to meet the targets for, like I say, for both impact and the NBH, often having to put in enablers along the way to make the vehicle viable.
