What we do (and Are Proud Of)
At Brentwood Bay Resort, we believe unforgettable guest experiences start with exceptional people.
Perched on the waterfront overlooking Brentwood Bay, our resort combines award-winning hospitality, elevated dining, wellness experiences, and one of the most beautiful workplace settings on Vancouver Island. While guests come for the views, they return because of the people who create memorable experiences every day.
We're proud to have been recognized multiple times as an Outstanding Workplace of the Year. That recognition comes from building a culture where people are trusted, supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.
We believe great kitchens are built on respect, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. We work hard, support one another, and take pride in creating an environment where people can build meaningful careers in hospitality.
If you're passionate about great food, strong teams, and hospitality done well, you'll fit right in.
Why this role matters
The Lodge Kitchen & Bar is not your typical pub.
Serving up to 200–300 guests during peak periods, our kitchen combines the standards of luxury resort dining with the energy and camaraderie of a bustling pub. Guests frequently line up before opening, drawn by our vibrant atmosphere, exceptional food, and iconic waterfront patio.
As Sous Chef, you'll work alongside the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef to help lead a culinary team of approximately 20 employees. You'll supervise and mentor cooks during service, contribute to menu development, support cost and inventory management, and help create an environment where people can do their best work.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.
