Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to join the team at Irma School for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time probationary teaching position includes a Jr./Sr. Humanities and Physical Education assignment serving students in Grades 6–12.

Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Experience and/or training in collaborative team environments
Experience in a K–12 teaching environment considered an asset
Experience and/or training in Division II/III English Language Arts and Division IV Social Studies considered an asset
The ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments that support student success across a range of grade levels and learning needs
A commitment to promoting student wellness, engagement, and school culture through physical education and broader school involvement
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
