The Role
GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Journeyperson Electrician to join our value-added client's team on a rotational basis out of Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is a full-time opportunity supporting mobile power generation and field electrical operations in the oil and gas sector.
The successful candidate works on a rotating schedule both at the facility and at customer locations, maintaining and troubleshooting mobile power generation equipment, motor control centers, and high-voltage systems while upholding strict safety and grounding standards at all times.
What You'll Do
Comply with all site safety standards, procedures, and applicable statutory regulations at all times
Maintain and troubleshoot mobile power generation equipment, variable frequency drives, motors, and motor control centers
Apply correct techniques and best practices for 110V, 240V, 480V, and 13.8kV AC single and three-phase power
Use proper grounding techniques and determine the appropriate level of PPE for each assigned task
Read and interpret a variety of electrical schematics and perform safe, correct cable routing
Operate multimeters, meggers, scope meters, and other hand and power tools required to complete the work
Maintain availability for 24-hour coverage while on scheduled rotation
Complete all required client safety and equipment training
Manage workload to ensure timely, efficient completion of assigned tasks while maintaining clear communication with the site team
What You Bring
Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician certification (Alberta or interprovincial)
Minimum 4 years of experience in the electrical field, with working knowledge of both A/C and D/C power
Familiarity with mobile power generation, variable frequency drives, motors, and motor control centers
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to accept changing priorities on a frequent basis
Strong attention to detail
Work Environment
Rotational schedule of 8 or 16 days on followed by 6 or 12 days off, subject to change based on operational requirements
Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Work is performed both at the facility and at customer field locations
