Job Summary
Investment Director, Infrastructure and Natural Resources – Latin America – located at 160 Front Street West, Suite 3200, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role focuses on direct equity investing across Latin America, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
Actively manage INR portfolio companies, serving on boards and partnering with management teams to shape strategy and drive value creation.
Originate, evaluate, and pursue selective investment opportunities with a focus on Latin America.
Lead all stages of equity investment execution, including valuation and financial analysis, oversight of internal teams and external advisors, and formulation of investment recommendations.
Identify and conduct due diligence on key business and transaction risks, and devise mitigation strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with management teams, directors, partners, lenders, advisors, and other industry participants.
Supervise and develop junior staff, providing clear direction and ongoing feedback.
Represent OTPP at regional industry conferences, portfolio company meetings, and related events.
Required Skills
10+ years of professional experience in direct equity investing or investment banking, focused on infrastructure.
5+ years of investment coverage experience in Latin America.
In‑country experience in Brazil, Chile, and/or Mexico is an asset.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently (20%+).
Strong ability to influence outcomes across a range of stakeholders, including management teams, boards, and partners.
Sound commercial judgement and ability to form independent views and make decisions with imperfect information in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong financial acumen and quantitative skills, including experience overseeing valuation and financial analysis.
Proven track record in leading the equity investment process, including due diligence, transaction execution, and debt financing.
Strong project‑management skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams and teams effectively under tight timelines.
Fluency in English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish is an asset.
Required Education
Undergraduate degree or master’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
