Salary:
Classification 13, $54,454.97 - $56,139.14 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Annual vacation (119 hours) is pro-rated, and front loaded. We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits (eligible after 6 months of employment). Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves. Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 - Jan 1) of each year is additional paid time off. Enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan is mandatory for all regular, full time support staff, with standard contributions matched by the employer.

The International Education Department is seeking to hire a full-time
International Student Specialist
, who will provide administrative, personal, and advocacy support to prospective and current international students. This position is primarily responsible for providing information and guidance on students' verification letters and other related documents, and also provides information on procedures and assists with orientation events.
The
International Student Specialist
will ensure to maintain extensive knowledge on policies, procedures and regulations of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) pertaining to documentation pertinent to international student requirements.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
Maintaining a variety of international student databases for registration, admissions, and recruitment.
Prepares, reviews and reports on a variety of student and/or course related areas including student demographics, contact information, part-time registration, and other statistical data; complies with general student information for reporting purposes.
Monitors student data; prepares and sends compliance reports to Immigration Canada, as required.
Participate in the recruitment, evaluation, inspection and maintain the required number of accommodations for emergent situations.
Assists students with preparing applications to the residence or with rentals within the community.
Facilitate the airport pick-ups upon arrival to the community.

Qualifications:
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' related experience and 1 year of post-secondary education with a certificate in office administration, or an equivalent combination of experience may be considered. Experience and proficiency with the current version of MS Office is required. Excellent organizational and both written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must be able to contribute to a team environment, multi-task, and work independently. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions. A valid BC Driver's License is required.
