Role and Facility Information
Physicians – Pain & Symptom Management/Palliative Care. BC Cancer – Prince George. Part‑time.
Responsibilities
Provide palliative care to ambulant cancer patients, integrated with oncological management and survivorship care.
Facilitate a coordinated approach and ensure continuity of care through effective communication and transfers to community‑level physicians, home care, and palliative services.
Offer consultation and education to BC Cancer care teams and community‑based providers.
Support research and educational initiatives in palliative and supportive care, and promote public and provider awareness of palliative care and symptom management.
Qualifications
Fully licensed physician with certification from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
RCPSC certification in Palliative Medicine (FRCPC).
Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti‑racism frameworks.
Commitment to reconciliation as outlined in the TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
