About the team
The Huawei Human-Machine Interaction Lab unites global researchers, engineers, and designers to redefine human technology relationships through user centered, hands on research. We focus on agentic AI and multimodal interaction (voice, touch, vision, gesture) across smartphones, wearables, and emerging devices—advancing agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, and intuitive human-AI interfaces. By tightly integrating sensing, algorithms, and systems, our prototype driven work ships directly to products, enabling seamless task delegation and human AI collaboration at scale.
About the job
Assist in 3D modeling of mechanical components (e.g., in SolidWorks) and design electrical circuit layouts or PCBs.
Develop and debug code for industrial or collaborative robots, often utilizing ROS(2), Python, or C++.
Integrate sensors (e.g., machine vision, tactile) , actuators, microcontrollers like Arduino into cohesive robotic platforms.
Prepare technical reports, assembly procedures, and bills of materials (BOMs) to support the transition from design to manufacturing.
The
total target annual compensation
(based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $58,000 to $104,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
About the ideal candidate
Currently pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in Python/C++, 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
Experience in modeling and controlling electromechanical systems, including Servo, Stepper, BLDC motors and FOC motor control is an asset.
Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
Basic understanding of AI/Machine Learning applications in robotics.
Knowledge of control theory (e.g., PID, feedback loops) and dynamics.
Hands-on experience such as familiarity with lab tools, 3D printing, soldering, and basic machining/fabrication.
Strong problem-solving aptitude, technical communication, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
