Integration Architect at InSync Systems — NeverHard

We are looking for an Integration Architect for a multi-year contract in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Onsite, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role. Role Description We are seeking an Integration Architect who will design the integration layer required to replace point‑to‑point integrations with documented, reusable, secure, and standards‑based APIs. This role will support the organization’s need to connect internal systems, public data products, industry/client‑facing services, government or external systems, cloud data platforms, GIS systems, and future commercial components using open integration patterns. Responsibilities Define target-state integration and API architecture. Design API standards, patterns, documentation practices, versioning, security, monitoring, and governance processes. Support transition from point‑to‑point integrations to documented APIs and structured data services. Design integrations with Azure, Databricks, GIS platforms, Microsoft 365, public data services, industry/client portals, internal operational systems, and government or external partner systems. Support integration requirements related to legacy system migration, workflow modernization, public‑facing data access, and commercial component integration. Advise on appropriate use of REST, GraphQL, event‑driven architecture, Model Context Protocol, messaging, and data exchange patterns. Work with security and privacy teams to ensure integration services meet authentication, authorization, logging, and data protection requirements. Document integration architecture, API specifications, and operational support guidance. Required Skills and Experience 8+ years of integration architecture or API architecture experience. Strong knowledge of REST, GraphQL, event‑driven patterns, API gateways, Azure integration services, identity/access management, monitoring, and secure data exchange. Experience modernizing legacy integrations and designing public‑facing APIs. Experience in public‑sector, regulatory, energy, utilities, or high‑governance environments would be an asset.
