Position Summary Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Human Resources department. In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, and as directed by the Regional Manager, Organizational Learning, the position designs, develops, evaluates, and continuously improves educational programming with a particular focus on microlearning and hybrid delivery modalities. The Instructional Designer engages key partners to inform learning and development requirements, as well as the design, development, and delivery of a multipronged and blended learning approaches. Builds and implements regional and local programs and systems for a variety of audiences and integrates knowledge of adult education methodologies, tools, and techniques into educational programming. Works closely with the eLearning team to coordinate and facilitate a learning strategy that aligns with NH strategic priorities. Represents the team on internal/external working groups and committees as required. Starting salary will be approximately from $76,111 to $95,138 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions. Qualfications • Bachelor degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Systems, Learning Design and Technology, Educational Psychology, or another related field. • Three (3) to five (5) years recent related experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and educational technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. • Certificate in Adult Learning is considered an asset. • Familiarity with Storyline and Moodle is considered an asset. • Familiarity with ADDIE model is considered an asset. Skills and Abilities: • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and curriculum development. • Demonstrated expertise in virtual design and delivery. • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge and skill in educational theory, research, technology, and related best practices as well as an understanding of health care disciplines and networking abilities to support enhanced educational practices and programming. • Ability to utilize adult learning principles and best practices to develop education programming. • Experience working with a Learning Management System. • Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external partners. • Familiarity with Universal Design for Accessibility in educational programming. • Familiarity with best practices in adult education principles and education content design using a variety of methods (e.g., microlearning, blended learning strategies such as online curriculum design, videos, and interactive education delivery). • Uses superior group facilitation, team building, negotiating, conflict resolution skills and an interactive teaching style to engage learners with a variety of different learning styles. • Fosters creativity and innovation in strategic planning involving learning and development and in the development of teaching and learning strategies. • Applies superior communication and design abilities and proficient computer skills in the design and development of creative, high quality, interactive learning materials. • Applies superior judgment and political expertise to communicate sensitive information to, and collaborate with, a variety of internal and external partners. • Ability to coach, mentor, and teach others. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to operate related equipment.
