GRASSLANDS PUBLIC SCHOOLS is hiring! ABOUT THE POSITION: Grasslands is seeking an exemplary educator to serve as Instructional Coach. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to enhance student learning, collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals, and develop innovative approaches that ensure effective instruction challenges all students to achieve at their highest level. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, successful candidates will take a leadership role in planning, sustaining, and improving student learning for Grasslands Public Schools. Successful candidates are not required to be experts in all areas of responsibility but a keen willingness to learn and serve our schools is a necessity. A master’s degree is not required for this role, however, is considered an asset. OUR VALUE PROPOSITION TO YOU Moving Expense Reimbursement New teachers who have accepted employment with the Division and must relocate from another town, city, or province, may be reimbursed for moving expenses, up to the limits noted below. This applies to teachers on probationary contracts, and Interim and Temporary teaching contracts for five (5) or more consecutive months. Employees relocating from: Red Deer and north of Red Deer - actual cost up to one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00). South of Red Deer , excluding a 110 km radius around the city of Brooks [Alberta] - actual cost up to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). Other provinces/countries - actual cost up to two thousand dollars ($2,000.00). Benefits 100% of benefit premiums paid (Extended Health, Dental, Vision, Extended Disability, Life, AD&D) *Percentage of premiums paid is based on FTE. Health Spending Account (for contracts of at least 5 consecutive months) Paid Sick Leave of 20 days for the first year and 90 days thereafter. Family Medical Leave of 3 days per year. Paid Personal leaves , combined 4 granted per year: 1 day at full pay and 3 days at loss of sub (contracts 5 months or more). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional Leadership and Coaching Support teachers in implementing Grasslands Instructional Framework for Exemplary Teaching, Grasslands Literacy Framework and Grasslands Numeracy Framework Support teachers in improving their teaching practice in key areas identified by teachers Support ongoing curriculum implementation and inclusive, innovative practices through instructional coaching Assist in planning, facilitation and implementation of school professional learning, collaborative group planning and refinement of Collaborative Response across Grasslands Work with school administration to actualize goals in School Education Plans Support the research, development and implementation of curriculum resources Serve as a key lead learner within Grasslands and as a representative for Grasslands across the province. Professional Learning and Development Conduct staff learning on topics including literacy, numeracy, English as an Additional Language, differentiation, assessment and others Collaborate as a member of the Learning Services team and wider Senior Administration teams to plan and implement division-wide professional learning Data and Technology Monitor and report on student achievement data to drive instructional improvement Work with teachers and school administration to utilize screening and provincial assessment data to improve practice and student outcomes Maintain and enhance the Instructional Coach website, Professional Learning Calendar and Coaches Newsletter IDEAL CANDIDATE Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and relationships with others Able to advocate for classroom environments that support diversity and inclusion Respect and value all individuals with sensitivity to diversity Personal integrity and trustworthiness Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills Demonstrated, deep knowledge and understanding of pedagogy, assessment and curriculum Flexibility in delivering and facilitating professional learning to multiple division and grade levels Highly organized and efficient QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Education from pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution Master’s degree in Education (or in progress) is preferred Valid Alberta teaching certificate Proven ability to establish trust and rapport with teachers, administrators, and other professionals Proven experience in facilitating community engagement and partnerships ...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
