Job Title: Injection Molding Machine Operator
Job Description
This role operates a vertical injection molding machine to produce high-quality plastic molded parts for cable assemblies. You will set up the machine based on job orders, run production, and perform thorough quality inspections on finished products. You will also inspect equipment regularly and maintain a clean, organized work area each day.
Responsibilities
Set up vertical injection molding machines according to job orders and production specifications.
Operate injection molding equipment to produce plastic molded parts for cable assemblies.
Monitor machine performance during production and make adjustments to maintain consistent quality and output.
Perform quality control inspections on molded parts to ensure they meet dimensional, visual, and functional requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints and related documentation to understand product requirements and setup parameters.
Inspect machines regularly to identify potential issues and support troubleshooting activities as needed.
Document production activities, inspections, and any issues or adjustments in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area on a daily basis.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to support efficient production and problem-solving.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working on the production floor.
Essential Skills
1–2 years of experience working with plastics in a production or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with machine operation, specifically injection molding machines.
Proven ability to perform quality control inspections on manufactured parts.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how machines and tooling operate.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and related technical documentation.
Experience with general machine operating in a production setting.
Basic inspection skills, including visual and dimensional checks.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with vertical injection molding equipment.
Familiarity with documentation practices in a manufacturing environment.
Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving basic equipment or process issues.
Understanding of P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams) or similar technical drawings.
Exposure to cable assemblies, electrical panels, or related products.
Comfort working in a production environment that supports industries such as military, construction, and oil and gas.
Willingness to learn new processes and support over-molding and custom solutions as needed.

Work Environment
This position is based in a clean, privately owned manufacturing facility located in the southeast area of the city. The operation includes an assembly shop for panels and heavy-duty cable wires serving industries such as military, construction, and oil and gas, as well as an expanded injection molding and over-molding capability. The facility produces custom cable assemblies, electrical panels, Measurement-While-Drilling related products, and proprietary installations. You will work primarily with vertical injection molding machines and related production and inspection tools. The role follows a second-shift schedule, Monday to Friday, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and collaboration, with a focus on meeting customer needs and delivering high-quality products.
