This role will be working on strategic projects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Ontario Health. The student will be contributing their technical expertise to support model development and validation approaches. Here is what you will be doing: Conducting exploratory analysis on health system performance to identify areas to develop AI use cases Supporting the development and validation of machine learning models for health system performance management Assisting in data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering for machine learning workflows Evaluating AI/ML model outputs and documenting findings for internal stakeholders Creating AI outputs to communicate insights from hospital performance data Reviewing literature and existing solutions to identify emerging applications relevant to health system performance Here is what you will need to be successful: Education and Experience Currently enrolled on a full-time basis in a Master's Program in Engineering - Data Analytics and Machine Learning or related discipline and experience (work and lived) Returning to school full-time in the fall Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated alignment with core values, including integrity, inspiration, tenacity, humility, and care Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with Python, R, SQL, or related data analysis tools Familiarity with machine learning concepts and data pre-processing techniques (Preferred: Large Language Models) Ability to work with large and complex datasets Understanding of healthcare operations, workflows, or hospital systems Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to translate technical findings into practical recommendations Attention to detail and commitment to data quality Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams Rate of Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour (dependent on level of education) Location: Ontario Health (OH) welcomes applications from candidates across Ontario.
