The company is the largest metal recycler in Atlantic Canada and has been in operation for over 80 years. John Ross & Sons Ltd. Specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, along with accepting a wide range of recyclable material to process. We are currently seeking an energetic and safety minded welder to join our team. What We Offer: Health, Dental and Vision benefits RRSP Match Company bonus Employee Assistance Program Full-time, permanent work PPE provided (Gloves, Glasses, safety Vest, Hard Hat) Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Operate semi-automatic welding equipment to weld metal segments using processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), pre-heating, tack welding, torch cutting, and flame cutting Welding, fabrication, and repair of various equipment Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment Perform minor repairs to equipment Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed. Maintain a clean and tidy work area Upkeeping safety procedures Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management Other labor duties as necessary Qualifications and Skills: Completion of college/technical training or a combination of training and experience Previous fabrication experience is an asset Reliable Transportation Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently Must be comfortable wearing full PPE while on shift Safety driven mindset Clear communication skills Comfortable working in all weather conditions Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM and rotational Saturdays as required Payrate: To be negotiated depending on experience *This role is not accessible by public transportation and will require other means of reliable transportation to get to and from work* *Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada.
