Principal Accountabilities
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layouts for industrial electrical equipment installations
Install, examine, replace, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related equipment
Perform preventative maintenance activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
Troubleshoot and install fire alarm systems and support construction-related electrical projects
Work with and maintain Allen-Bradley VFDs and 600-volt distribution systems (MCCs)
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Certified Journeyperson Electrician ticket recognized in Alberta
Three (3) to five (5) years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial environment
Expertise with Canadian Electrical Code and industrial electrical systems
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining: Allen-Bradley PLCs and VFDs / Motor Control Centers (MCCs) / 600V electrical distribution systems / Electrical motors and control circuits / Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems / Switchgear and transformers
Experience with fire alarm installation and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Proficient in electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
Working knowledge of automation systems and industrial networks
Relevant certifications as Industrial Electrician
Red Seal ticket
