POSITION SUMMARY:
ICI is currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Business Agronomist to join our Scandia team.
The Business Agronomist will play a key role in supporting growers through expert agronomic guidance, relationship-building, and exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is motivated to contribute to the success of the agricultural community.
Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm with seasonal changes in workload.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Agronomic Support & Crop Management:
Provide agronomic recommendations and technical support to growers throughout the growing season
Conduct regular crop scouting and field assessments to monitor crop health, weed pressure, insects, and disease concerns
Analyze soil, tissue, and crop data to support informed decision-making and maximize yield potential
Deliver timely recommendations related to fertility, crop protection, seed selection, and overall crop management strategies
Stay informed on industry trends, products, and best practices to provide accurate and innovative agronomic advice
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective growers
Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding grower needs and providing tailored agronomic solutions
Conduct farm visits and maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the season
Identify opportunities to support grower success through products, services, and agronomic planning
Represent ICI in a professional and positive manner within the agricultural community
Sales & Business Development:
Support the promotion and sale of agronomic products and services
Collaborate with customers to develop crop input plans and recommendations that align with their operational goals
Assist with identifying new business opportunities and expanding the customer base within the region
Participate in customer appreciation events, trade shows, and community engagement initiatives
Team Collaboration & Operational Support:
Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless product delivery and customer support
Communicate customer needs and field observations effectively with operations and management teams
Assist with inventory awareness and product forecasting during peak seasons
Support branch operations and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Administration & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and organized records of customer interactions, agronomic recommendations, and field observations
Complete required reporting and documentation in a timely manner
Participate in grower meetings, field tours, training sessions, and educational events
Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation or eligibility preferred but not required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in agronomy or agricultural sales.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, customer-focused approach with staff and suppliers, as well as with existing and prospective customers.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.
