JUST HR is recruiting for an HR Business Partner to support a growing northern BC operation with a strong presence in marine services, workforce accommodation, and industrial projects. This newly created role is designed to bring dedicated HR leadership directly to the Kitimat operation, providing hands-on support to site leadership and employees rather than managing people issues remotely. The successful candidate will help strengthen workplace culture, support operational growth, and build trusted relationships across a diverse workforce that includes marine professionals, tradespeople, hospitality staff, and local community members. This role is ideal for someone who brings practical HR experience, sound judgment, and credibility in industrial or project-based environments. Responsibilities Act as the primary on-site HR resource for employees and leaders across multiple operational teams Build trusted relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership teams Provide guidance on employee relations matters including performance management, workplace conflict, conduct issues, and terminations Support a positive, accountable, and respectful workplace culture Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning and staffing needs Coordinate recruitment activities and support hiring processes for the Kitimat operation Ensure hiring documentation and approvals are organized and aligned with company standards Support onboarding and consistent HR practices across the site Strengthen relationships with local Indigenous communities and support Indigenous employment initiatives Act as a culturally aware liaison between operations and community stakeholders Ensure HR policies and employment practices are applied consistently across the operation Monitor workforce engagement and proactively identify potential employee concerns Provide ongoing communication and updates to senior HR leadership while operating independently on day-to-day site matters Requirements 5+ years of progressive HR experience in industrial, construction, marine, resource, or heavy operations environments Proven experience handling employee relations, recruitment, and workforce planning Comfortable working in direct, operational, and technical workplace cultures Strong communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust quickly Experience supporting remote, project-based, or field operations is considered an asset Understanding of Indigenous community engagement and culturally respectful workplace practices Strong judgment and ability to balance business needs with employee support Ability to work independently and partner effectively with operational leadership CPHR designation or related education is considered an asset Preference for candidates already located in the Kitimat or Terrace region, or those committed to relocating Remuneration Salary range: $90,000 - $130,000 Permanent, full-time opportunity Competitive benefits package **Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered** Just HR is a specialized Human Resources recruitment and search firm with seven practice areas: General HR, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Organizational Development, Labour & Employee Relations, HRIS, Health & Safety.
