Overview
IMS is seeking People and Culture (HR) Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of employee support, HR administration, and practical problem-solving, and is looking to grow their career in a hands-on environment.
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, the People and Culture Generalist will play a key role in delivering consistent, responsive, and compliant HR support across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Support & Relations
Act as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries
Provide guidance on company policies, practices, and basic employment standards
Support routine employee relations matters, escalating more complex issues as needed
Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate recruitment activities including posting roles, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews
Support hiring managers through the recruitment process
Lead onboarding coordination and ensure a positive new hire experience
HR Operations & Administration
Maintain accurate employee records in BambooHR and other systems
Support payroll processes in coordination with the payroll function
Prepare employment documentation (offers, letters, changes, etc.)
Policies, Compliance & Programs
Support the administration and communication of HR policies and programs
Assist with compliance requirements (ESA, workplace policies, training tracking, etc.)
Contribute to HR initiatives such as engagement, health and safety, and training
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Participate in HR projects and process improvements
Help streamline workflows and improve employee experience
Qualifications
35 years of progressive HR experience
Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is an asset
Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach
Ability and willingness to travel between locations.
