Job Description Our client, a mid-sized downtown law firm, is seeking a client-service-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join its Administration team. Reporting to the Director of Administration, this role supports HR administration, recruitment, employee programs, and day-to-day operational needs. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality. Key Responsibilities: Support HR and operational initiatives across the firm. Coordinate recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, offer letters, and employment documentation. Facilitate onboarding, cross-boarding, status changes, and offboarding processes. Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, digital files, and recruitment tracking while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity. Prepare and maintain HR correspondence, employment verifications, compensation letters, employee communications, and related documentation. Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace resources. Coordinate training, performance review schedules, wellness initiatives, team-building activities, employee events, and recognition programs. Assist with compliance, reporting, HR metrics, annual schedules, and process improvement initiatives. Support a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture and perform other administrative or HR duties as assigned. Qualifications: 2+ years of HR administration experience and a post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, strong typing skills, and comfort using HR systems or digital records. Excellent organization, time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills. Professional, reliable, discreet, and able to handle confidential information appropriately. Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Professional services or law firm experience is considered an asset.
