The successful candidate will be a coach and cheerleader for the housekeeping team, providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department, while sharing their flare for style, design and a passion for cleanliness. The Housekeeping Manager is primarily responsible for: Leading and directing the Housekeeping team to maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, comfort and care throughout guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces. Supervising daily Housekeeping operations and coordinating room-cleaning priorities based on occupancy, arrivals, departures and operational needs. Conducting regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety and quality standards are consistently maintained. Recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching and developing Housekeeping team members to support performance and service excellence. Preparing team schedules and monitoring attendance, staffing levels and productivity to ensure appropriate operational coverage. Managing departmental purchasing, inventory, linen, amenities, supplies and equipment while controlling costs and remaining within budget. Responding professionally to guest requests and resolving concerns promptly to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction. Collaborating with other hotel departments to support seamless operations and the overall guest experience. Ensuring compliance with company standards, departmental procedures and health and safety requirements. Maintaining accurate departmental records, training documentation, inspection reports and inventories. Participating in hotel meetings and committees while providing departmental updates and recommendations. Performing other duties as assigned, including supporting the team during peak operational periods. In addition to the core job responsibilities, the Housekeeping Manager will illustrate the ability and passion to: Live the corporate culture, personifying it in daily interactions with both guests and team members Be an engaging team member who is highly inclusive, inspiring, and able to relate to all levels Participate in a fun and supportive working environment where team members aspire to do what is right and are given the empowerment to execute What You Bring to the Table A minimum of two years experience managing the Housekeeping department; Diploma, degree, or master’s in hospitality – food & beverage, or hospitality management school; Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook; Experience working with Opera or other PMS is an asset; Experience with Revenue Management is an asset; Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner; The ability to demonstrate skills of an approachable coach that cultivates a work environment that encourages feedback; Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines; Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include but are not limited to days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required by management; If you’re ready to work somewhere that values performance as much as professionalism, and believes hospitality should feel like an event, Pantages Hotel Downtown Toronto is your perfect match.
