You will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the school and student residence in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Duties And Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect areas and items such as classrooms, student bedrooms, washrooms, common areas, study spaces, cafeterias, stairwells, and hallways
Clean interior windows, walls, glass, doors, desks, lockers, and mirrors
Clean and sanitize student rooms, including furniture, floors, and high-touch surfaces
Maintain cleanliness in classrooms, including desks, boards, floors, and shared equipment
Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed
Vacuum carpeted areas and perform carpet extraction when required
Check all primary areas, including entrances, lobbies, stairwells, and common spaces, and clean as necessary
Remove garbage and recycling from student rooms, classrooms, and common areas
Restock cleaning supplies and report low inventory levels
Maintain confidentiality of all student and staff information
Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g., proper use of wet floor signs and cleaning equipment)
Perform duties in accordance with health and safety guidelines and school policies
Report all injuries, hazards, or maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately
Respond to emergency cleanups as required
Qualifications
Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a school, residence, healthcare, hotel, or commercial cleaning environment, is an asset
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage a heavy workload
Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including lifting up to 20 pounds
