Job DescriptionJob Description Title: Telecom Construction Crew / Lead Hand Reports to: OSP Construction Manager Last Reviewed: November 2023 Overview: The Telecom Construction Crew/Lead Hand is responsible for ensuring the physical infrastructure is built to specification, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and reliability. This position combines hands-on construction work with leadership responsibilities, making it vital for the ongoing expansion and maintenance of the telecommunications network. Responsibilities: • Project Execution & Management: Lead the crew to ensure telecom infrastructure projects are completed as per the design, within budget, and on schedule. This includes understanding blueprints, ensuring the correct materials are on-site, and setting daily tasks for the crew. • Safety Compliance: Champion the highest standards of safety by ensuring that all crew members follow protocols and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Conduct regular safety briefings and trainings, ensuring a zero-incident work environment. • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide crew members, facilitating an environment where they can learn, grow, and enhance their technical abilities. Resolve conflicts and promote a team-oriented approach to problem-solving. • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of the work done by the team, ensuring it adheres to both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements. Address any discrepancies immediately and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner. • Equipment Maintenance & Management: Oversee the proper usage, maintenance, and storage of tools, machinery, and equipment. Ensure that all equipment is in working order, arranging for repairs or replacements when necessary. Qualifications: 1. Experience: A minimum of 3 years in telecommunications construction, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. 2. Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting telecom infrastructure blueprints. Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and tools. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
