Job DescriptionJob Description
Transport heavy, oversized, and high-value equipment safely using Quantum Equipment’s tractors, specialized trailers, and project-support fleet.
Responsibilities
Operate assigned tractors and specialized trailers for heavy-haul, oversize-load, machinery, and industrial-equipment moves.
Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, logbooks, and defect reports before and after dispatch.
Work with the field crew to verify load placement, weight distribution, securement, dimensions, permits, and the planned route.
Coordinate clearly with dispatch, pilot vehicles, crane and rigging crews, customers, and site personnel.
Maneuver safely in yards, loading areas, active project sites, and other restricted-access locations.
Protect the equipment and cargo, maintain required documents, and report changes or hazards before proceeding.
Qualifications
A valid Alberta Class 1 driver’s licence and an acceptable commercial driver’s abstract.
Relevant heavy-haul, oversize-load, specialized-trailer, or industrial transport experience.
Practical knowledge of load securement, weights and dimensions, route restrictions, permits, and equipment inspections.
Strong judgment, clear communication, and a safety-first approach around cranes, rigging crews, and customer sites.
Current safety tickets and transportation credentials are assets; include all licences and certifications with your application.
Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Schedule & location
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime when project needs require. This position is based at Quantum Equipment’s Calgary shop and works on pickup, delivery, and project routes as scheduled.
