Job Description CEDA is currently seeking 2 Heavy Duty Technician, Journeyman to join the Dredging and Fluid Management team in Fort McMurray, AB. This is a full time site-based opportunity with accommodation and flights provided. What we offer: 14x14 rotation, night shift Accommodations and flights provided Safety is Number 1: we watch out for one another and pride ourselves in doing the work right the first time Work with an excellent team completing the majority of repairs in house, allowing for continuous growth and skill development Key Duties and Responsibilities Preventative maintenance on Stationary Diesel Engines, Hydraulic Systems, Trailer Units, Dredges, Barges & Marine equipment Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts Interpret work orders Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled Ensure all health, safety and environment practices and paperwork are complete for all day to day activities Other duties as assigned Role Specifications Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal required CSO (Common Safety Orientation) required Experience in hydraulic, electrical, dredge and pump systems an asset Oil & Gas experience an asset Valid Class 5 license with less than 5 demerits Weight handling of up to 50 lbs Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test Skills You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs Your knowledge John Deere, Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for success You’re flexible - willing to work an on-call schedule as needed and adapt to changing work environments Computers are your friend, not your enemy Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to provide your own tools would be assets.
