Job DescriptionJob Description Heavy Equipment Road Technician Cambridge $32-$40/hr Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Road Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair construction and aerial equipment at customer locations throughout the Cambridge and surrounding area. This is a field-service position suited to someone with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working with diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will work independently on customer sites, complete repairs safely and efficiently, and help keep equipment operating with minimal downtime. Benefits Competitive hourly compensation of $32-$40/hr Bonus opportunities Paid vacation and personal time Company-paid health, dental, and vision benefits Life insurance coverage Company vehicle RRSP matching program Annual uniform and personal protective equipment allowance Employee wellness and retail discount programs Internal technical training and career-development opportunities Mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities Supportive and safety-focused team environment Responsibilities include: Travel to customer and construction sites to service and repair equipment Diagnose diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues Repair skid steers, mini excavators, aerial lifts, reach equipment, and towable units Complete inspections, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and field repairs Read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics Test equipment to confirm it is operating safely and correctly Identify required repairs and replacement parts Explain equipment issues, repairs, and safe operating procedures to customers Provide technical support to other service technicians when needed Complete service reports and update computerized maintenance records Maintain tools, parts, inventory, and service vehicle organization Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum three years of experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, material-handling equipment, or similar machinery Heavy equipment technician certification or related trade qualification is considered an asset Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components Experience working with compact construction equipment or aerial equipment is preferred Previous field-service or mobile repair experience is considered an asset Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract Comfortable travelling to customer sites throughout the assigned service area Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Action-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment Strong communication and customer-service skills Comfortable using computers, tablets, and electronic service-management systems WHMIS and additional workplace health and safety training are considered assets Must be able to safely wear a hard hat, steel-toed boots, high-visibility clothing, and safety glasses For more information contact melissa.zicarelli@toptiertalentgroup.com
