What You'll Do
As a Healthcare Operations Centre Dispatcher, you'll be the central point of contact for operational scheduling and workforce coordination.
Your responsibilities will include:
Create, update, and maintain Security Guard schedules using scheduling software (winTEAM).
Respond to shift cancellations, call-offs, and urgent staffing shortages.
Coordinate shift coverage while ensuring all healthcare facilities remain fully staffed.
Communicate professionally with Security Guards, Supervisors, and Management regarding scheduling changes, vacation requests, and book-offs.
Work closely with the Alberta Protective Services Operations Centre to support operational requirements.
Monitor employee overtime and provide weekly reports to management.
Maintain accurate scheduling records and ensure operational information is updated in real time.
Provide exceptional customer service while remaining calm under pressure during high-volume periods.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Full availability to work
days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
on an on-call basis.
Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to quickly learn new scheduling software such as winTEAM.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in scheduling, dispatch, workforce coordination, or customer service.
Post-secondary education or currently enrolled in college or university.
Experience working in healthcare, security, logistics, or emergency operations is considered an asset.
