HireLoft Recruitment is working with a fast-growing, multi-entity organization on a confidential search for a Group Financial Controller. This is a technically demanding, high-visibility role sitting at the centre of the group's financial reporting function, reporting directly to the VP Finance. This is not a generalist finance role and it is not a people management role. We are looking for a technically sharp, self-driven CPA who can pick up the mandate and run with it independently from day one. About the Organization A well-capitalized and rapidly growing company operating across 30+ entities and multiple business verticals. The organization is executing an active acquisition strategy and is building toward a future public listing. The finance team is approximately 25 people strong and continuing to grow as the business scales. What You Will Be Doing Financial Reporting and Consolidation Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation across 30+ legal entities under IFRS Own intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and consolidation adjustments Ensure accurate and timely preparation of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements Continuously improve close processes, reduce timelines, and drive automation Technical Accounting Act as the internal IFRS subject matter expert across complex areas including: IFRS 3 business combinations and purchase price allocations IFRS 16 lease accounting Share option valuations and amortization Revenue recognition Develop and maintain accounting policy notes and financial statement disclosures Prepare and maintain audit-ready working papers IPO and Capital Markets Readiness Support development of public-company-ready financial reporting standards, policies, and documentation Assist in building the foundation for future public filings including MD&A and consolidated financial statements Manage and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting in preparation for public market standards Support SEDAR filing requirements and regulatory compliance as the organization moves toward a public listing Audit and External Stakeholders Own the full external audit process from planning through to completion Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants M&A Integration Support financial integration of newly acquired businesses including opening balance sheet alignment and accounting policy harmonization Lead integration of acquired entities into consolidation systems and reporting frameworks Standardize accounting policies across acquired entities Systems and Technology Primary consolidation and FP&A tool: Vena, linking Microsoft D365 Business Central and Sage Intacct Ability to maximize Vena and unlock additional reporting capabilities beyond consolidation is a significant asset Comfort with data, minor SQL, or coding logic is a plus Who We Are Looking For Big 4 public accounting background (strongly preferred) 8 to 12+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting and consolidation Deep technical knowledge of IFRS across complex accounting areas Proven experience managing group-level multi-entity consolidations IPO readiness, SEDAR filing experience, or public company reporting background is a major differentiator Experience in a high-growth, acquisitive, or private equity-backed environment is a strong asset Hands-on experience with consolidation tools such as Vena, HFM, or similar platforms Self-motivated, independent, and confident operating without direct oversight Someone who gets genuinely excited about systems, technical problems, and building things the right way What Is In It For You Base salary of $140,000 to $160,000 depending on experience Performance bonus of up to 20% High-visibility role reporting directly to VP Finance with exposure to executive leadership Active involvement in M&A execution and integration Direct exposure to IPO preparation and a real capital markets journey Opportunity to build and scale a best-in-class group finance function This role is ideal for someone who wants to own something meaningful, go deep in their area of expertise, and be the go-to person for everything related to group financial reporting and compliance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
