Our client, a thriving Calgary-based financial services firm, is looking to add a Group Benefits & Retirement Advisor to their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The organisation brings together investment management, insurance, financial planning (retirement and estate), and group benefits under one roof, giving clients comprehensive solutions built around their specific needs.

The Opportunity:
This role suits a seasoned professional with strong relationship management instincts and an entrepreneurial drive. Roughly 80% of your time will be spent delivering excellent service to an existing corporate client base, with the remainder focused on closing sales opportunities within that established book of business and your own network.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess corporate clients' group benefits and retirement needs, recommending tailored solutions for comprehensive coverage and long-term security
Manage the renewal process with attention to detail, clear communication, and thoughtful analysis to support client decisions
Oversee implementation of new group benefit and retirement plans, ensuring smooth, confident transitions
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement and excellent service
Respond promptly to client inquiries, plan changes, and adjustments with high-quality support
Maintain compliance with regulations and organisational policies
Develop educational resources to help clients make informed decisions
Track performance metrics to maintain high service standards and meet business goals
Build professional networks within the Calgary community to create new opportunities
Stay current on industry trends and certifications
Document client interactions and plan details in the CRM system
Identify opportunities to offer additional solutions to existing clients, focused on their needs
Track industry changes and competitor offerings to continually enhance client service
Gather and analyse client feedback to drive continuous improvement
Job Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in group benefits and retirement solutions, including 2-3 years in a brokerage role
Valid life insurance license, with industry certifications such as GBA, RPA, or CEBS considered an asset
Willingness to travel within Southern Alberta a few times a year to meet with providers
Familiarity with the local Alberta market and client base is preferred
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business development skills
Skilled in consultative selling and relationship management
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
Proficient with industry software and CRM systems

Compensation:
This role offers a competitive base salary of $80,000 - $90,000 per year (depending on experience), plus a client retention bonus and commissions. Additional perks include a hybrid work model (3 days a week in office), vacation and flex days, full health benefits, and a group RSP plan.
