About the Company
In partnership with insurance carriers, the company offers a digital employee group benefits solution that connects plan design, self-enrollment, administration, billing, and premium collection with payroll and HR.
About the Role
Advisors play an essential role in Canadian group benefits. Employers rely on their advisors to find the right plan, and advisors bring their clients to partners they trust.
As Group Benefits Account Executive, you will own and grow the advisor channel: identifying prospective advisor partners, building trust, and generating a steady flow of quote opportunities. You will also manage each opportunity from the first conversation through to closing.
Reporting to the President, you will play a key role in growing the business through the advisor network you develop.
Key Responsibilities
Grow the advisor network across Canada by strengthening existing relationships and developing new partnerships.
Manage each opportunity from specifications to signed case: review advisor submissions, coordinate quotes, present proposals, explain pricing and plan deviations, and address questions.
Manage client leads introduced by advisors and keep opportunities progressing.
Maintain accurate pipeline activity and sales forecasts in the CRM.
Represent the company at industry events and within the advisor community, with some travel across Canada.
Stay informed about developments in the Canadian group benefits market.
Share industry knowledge and support the development of newer teammates.
Qualifications
Five or more years of Canadian group benefits experience with a carrier, TPA, advisory firm, or benefits technology provider.
Strong knowledge of group benefits plan design and pricing.
A valid provincial
life insurance licence (LLQP)
, with willingness to obtain additional provincial licences as required.
Full-cycle sales experience, including independently sourcing and closing opportunities.
Confidence building relationships with new contacts, both in person and virtually.
Strong organization, CRM discipline, and pipeline management skills.
An understanding of working within a regulated industry.
Interest in technology and experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
Willingness to coach colleagues and share expertise.
Preferred qualifications:
Established relationships within the Canadian advisor and broker community.
GBA or CEBS designation, completed or in progress.
