Position Overview
Food World Plus
is seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Operations Manager to lead operations for our 176,000 sq. ft. high-volume grocery store. This role is responsible for overseeing all grocery retail functions including fresh departments, center store, front-end operations, inventory control, staffing, and financial performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong grocery retail experience who can drive operational excellence, maximize profitability, and deliver an outstanding shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of all grocery departments including Produce, Meat, Dairy, Deli, Bakery, Frozen, Dry Grocery, Non-Food, and Front-End
Lead and manage department managers and a large team (100+ employees)
Drive sales growth, gross margin, and overall store profitability
Monitor shrink, waste control, and inventory turnover
Ensure food safety, sanitation, and compliance with all regulatory standards
Develop staffing plans, scheduling, and labor cost control strategies
Maintain high merchandising standards and promotional execution
Analyze sales reports, KPIs, and financial data to improve performance
Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate purchasing agreements
Resolve customer concerns and ensure exceptional customer service standards
Implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
5+ years of senior management experience in a high-volume grocery store
Experience managing large-format grocery operations (100,000+ sq. ft. preferred)
Strong understanding of fresh departments and food safety regulations
Proven leadership and team development experience
Strong financial, budgeting, and inventory management skills
Experience with grocery POS systems and retail software
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
