Safety sensitive position:
Yes
Application deadline:
July 15, 2026
Key Accountabilities

Collaborate with reservoir engineering, geology, and operations teams to develop injection strategies and monitor pressure plumes
Design, implement, and manage seismicity monitoring programs, including passive seismic and microseismic arrays
Develop and apply Traffic Light Protocols (TLP) and Monitoring, Mitigation, and Response (MMR) plans in compliance with government directives for carbon storage
Conduct seismic hazard and risk assessments, incorporating pressure diffusion, poroelastic stress changes, Coulomb failure analysis, and physics-based or statistical forecasting methods

Seismic interpretation using industry software (e.g. Seisware, Petrel, Hampson & Russell, Geographix, Subsurface AI)
Hands-on experience with passive seismic analysis, poroelastic and pressure-diffusion modeling, and seismicity forecasting using coupled models
Strong knowledge of Alberta regulatory requirements, particularly AER Directive 065, TLP/MMR plans, and Area of Review processes
Experience developing and applying international CCS analogs to inform local risk assessments and model calibration
