About Sasstech Inc.
Sasstech Inc. manufactures, and services industrial and standby generator systems. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined person to help assemble generator sets in our shop and perform service work at customer locations when required.
This is a hands-on position with a variety of work. The successful applicant will work with engines, alternators, electrical controls, fuel systems, cooling systems, enclosures, and related equipment. Generator experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong mechanical ability and is eager to learn.
Responsibilities
Assemble diesel, natural-gas, and propane generator sets
Install engines, alternators, radiators, fuel systems, exhaust components, batteries, wiring, and control panels
Read basic drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals, and assembly instructions
Perform mechanical and basic electrical work
Assist with generator startup, testing, troubleshooting, and load-bank testing
Diagnose and repair engines, generators, controls, sensors, wiring, and related equipment
Travel to customer locations for generator maintenance, and emergency service when required
Complete oil changes, inspections, preventive maintenance, and service reports
Keep tools, parts, and work areas clean and organized
Help receive, identify, and manage parts and inventory
Follow safe working practices in the shop and at customer sites
Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
Experience working with engines, industrial equipment, farm equipment, automotive systems, electrical equipment, or machinery is preferred
Basic electrical knowledge is an asset
Welding or fabrication experience is an asset
Generator, diesel-engine, or industrial-service experience is an asset
Able to work independently and as part of a small team
Dependable, organized, and willing to take responsibility for completing jobs properly
Willing to learn unfamiliar equipment and troubleshoot problems
Valid Ontario driver’s licence
Able and willing to travel for service calls when necessary
Able to safely lift and handle parts and equipment associated with the position
Work Conditions
Most work will be performed at our shop near Flesherton, Ontario. The position also includes occasional road service at customer sites. Some jobs may require overtime, early starts, or emergency service, depending on customer needs.
