Our client, a leading organization in safety science and testing, is seeking a dedicated and skilled General Technician to join their dynamic team. As a General Technician, you will be an integral part of the Technical Laboratory supporting safety testing and research initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization. Job Title: General Technician Location: Scarborough, ON Shift: Day/Morning What's the Job? Perform test set-up and construction within designated areas, utilizing your scientific and engineering knowledge. Assist in fabricating structural components such as wood framing and HSS as per diagrams or blueprints. Operate and maintain laboratory test equipment and instrumentation, ensuring safety and accuracy. Support in recording and documenting test data, observations, and results accurately. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes and safety standards. What's Needed? Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory or technical environment. Ability to read diagrams, blueprints, and technical instructions effectively. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, with basic welding skills considered an asset. Physical capability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and perform tasks requiring high physical demand. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. What's in it for me?
