This position will be employed by Old Yale Brewing's parent company, The Pera Group. The General Laborer will primarily be responsible for conducting a range of repair, maintenance, improvement, and building tasks set out by the Projects Lead. This person is a problem‑solver with strong technical abilities, excellent communication skills, a commitment to high‑quality workmanship, and an understanding of how to uniquely approach situations with a “can do” attitude! This position will report to the Facilities Manager, working closely with and under the direct supervision of the Projects Lead. General Duties Perform general repairs, maintenance, and installations across various properties as instructed by the Project Leads or Managing Partners. Diagnose issues and recommend appropriate repair solutions to the Projects Lead. Complete tasks such as drywall repair, painting, carpentry, minor plumbing, minor electrical work, appliance installation, and fixture replacement. Assemble furniture and equipment items. Conduct routine inspections and identify potential issues before they become major problems. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Work effectively and safely to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high-quality standards. Maintain all pieces of equipment by routinely inspecting, conducting repairs, and ordering replacements when necessary. Travel to various job locations, including operating various Company vehicles. Work alongside Projects Lead to help identify and report the needs for repairs at various locations. This job description outlines the primary duties and responsibilities but is not all‑inclusive. Additional tasks may be assigned or adjusted as business needs evolve. Qualifications Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role. Strong knowledge of general repair techniques and tools. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Good physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor with the ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 165 pounds. Valid B.C. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driver’s abstract are required. Able to navigate through instructions and carry them out safely and efficiently within a given deadline. Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of accountability. Professional, courteous, and customer‑focused attitude. Attitude and willingness to roll your sleeves up to help and get the job done! Carpentry or woodworking experience Basic plumbing and electrical experience Experience with renovations or remodeling Ability to read blueprints or technical diagrams
