This role involves completing a variety of general maintenance tasks to prepare dormitory rooms for occupancy while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Perform patching and painting of walls to restore surfaces to base building condition Replace light bulbs and ensure lighting fixtures are functioning properly Replace basic HVAC filters as required Apply caulking to tubs and other fixtures Assist with general maintenance tasks throughout residence units Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns to supervisors Support team members to ensure project timelines are achieved Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements Previous experience in general labour, maintenance, renovations, or a related field Basic knowledge of painting, patching, caulking, and minor repairs Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good English communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship Preferred Experience Experience working on commercial, institutional, or residential maintenance projects Previous experience in building maintenance or property management environments Experience using common hand tools and maintenance equipment Knowledge of basic health and safety practices within construction or maintenance settings Work Conditions University residence and commercial building environment Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive physical movement throughout the shift Working with paint, patching materials, caulking, and basic maintenance equipment Fast-paced project environment with daily productivity expectations Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all Health & Safety requirements How to Apply If you are a dependable General Labourer looking for an opportunity to work on a building maintenance project with a respected organization, we encourage you to apply with your current and detailed resume.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
