You will work with sheet metal, insulation, and hand and power tools to help produce high-quality HVAC products in a fast-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities Provide general help and labour support in the warehouse, including racking, moving shelving units, and organizing materials. Assist with insulating pipes, ducts, and other HVAC components using appropriate materials and tools. Operate various production machines safely and efficiently to support manufacturing output. Run flex machines that create ducts, pipes, and tubes according to production specifications. Operate oval machines to shape metal components into required forms. Use box cutters, tape measures, and other hand tools accurately to cut and measure materials. Handle sheet metal and insulation materials, including fiberglass, while following safety and handling procedures. Follow production instructions and quality standards to ensure products meet required specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse and production floor. Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with plant rules. Work collaboratively with team members and support different areas of the plant as needed. Demonstrate reliable attendance and performance to support eligibility for permanent union membership. Experience using hand tools such as box cutters and tape measures. Experience using power tools in a safe and controlled manner. Comfort working with sheet metal and related materials. Ability to work safely with insulation materials, including fiberglass, and willingness to handle potentially itchy materials. Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required. Capability to work in a loud, warm, and industrial production environment. Reliable transportation for afternoon shift roles, as public transit is not available at end-of-shift hours. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment is an asset. Familiarity with HVAC products or components is an advantage. Comfort learning to operate multiple types of production machinery. Willingness to rotate through different areas and tasks within the plant to build skills. Strong attention to detail when measuring, cutting, and assembling materials. Ability to work both day and afternoon shifts as required by production needs. Why Work Here? Employees benefit from a structured pay progression within a unionized environment, with the opportunity to transition to permanent status after approximately three months based on attendance and performance. Team members gain exposure to a variety of machines and production areas, supported by a stable workforce with many long-tenured employees, creating a setting where you can continuously upgrade your skills and earning potential within a large, established international organization. Work Environment The role is based in a loud industrial production facility that manufactures HVAC products. The plant can become warm during the summer months and may be somewhat dirty due to the nature of industrial work. Employees work directly with insulation materials, including fiberglass, and must be comfortable with potential itchiness from these materials. There are two main shifts available: a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and an afternoon shift from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Afternoon shift employees require access to a car, as public transit is not available at the end of the shift. After approximately three months, employees may be considered for permanent union membership based on attendance, performance, and headcount, which includes a base pay increase when permanent.
