We
offer 75 hours bi-weekly with every third weekend off. Core hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm with
modified hours for scheduled evenings or longer days. But
if you want more flexibility, our Piecework Program puts you in control:

Your
Role as a Funeral Attendant
This
is a key role in the successful execution of providing 5-Star Customer Service
to families through:
Assist
in preparing and working funeral services
Setting
up the chapel or church for the funeral service, as well as items that are
particular to the service such as flowers, photo displays, memorabilia, or
culturally specific items
Loading
of funeral vehicles with required equipment
Transport
of families to the service and/or graveside and to and from the home residence
Welcoming
families to the chapel for funeral or visitation services
Handing
out funeral service folders and providing seating guidance (ushering)
Bringing
the casket or urn into the chapel and guiding pallbearers in their roles
Assisting Licensed Directors with daily tasks
Care
and upkeep of funeral home facilities, equipment, grounds and vehicles
Working
comfortably around, and occasionally coming in contact with, decedents
Traveling
across Calgary to work at various McInnis & Holloway locations
Working
a set schedule that includes weekends and some holidays
Other duties as assigned
What
You Bring
Completion
of the Funeral Director diploma or enrollment in the program is considered an
asset
Professional,
helpful, and caring demeanor
Able
to lift and carry up to 50 kg and move a casket
Current
Class 5 (non GDL) driver’s license with a driver’s abstract with six or less
demerits
Clean
driving record and insured for a minimum of 3 years
Excellent
oral communication skills. A second language is considered an asset

Availability
to work all shifts as scheduled, including weekends and holidays with the
