Full-Time Shift Leader
Starting Wage: $20.15 per hour
Carpenter Enterprises (B.C.) Inc. is an independently owned and operated franchise of McDonald's Restaurants serving communities across Vancouver Island. We are currently seeking motivated and dependable Shift Leaders to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy leading others, creating great guest experiences, and developing their leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. As a Shift Leader, you will play a key role in supporting restaurant operations, coaching team members, and ensuring operational excellence during every shift.
What Full-Time Availability Means
Full-time availability means being available to work a variety of shifts throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred candidates will have flexible availability and be able to support restaurant operations across multiple dayparts.
Typical manager shifts include:
Opening Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Mid Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Closing Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 4:00 PM - Midnight, or 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM (depending on restaurant location)
Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (depending on restaurant location)
Shifts are typically 7-8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
A Day in the Life
No two shifts are exactly the same. As a Shift Leader, you'll lead by example while supporting the team in delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining operational standards, and achieving restaurant goals.
Your day may include:
Leading and coordinating restaurant operations during your shift
Coaching, developing, and motivating crew members
Supporting training and onboarding of new employees
Monitoring food quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality standards
Handling guest concerns and resolving issues professionally
Managing shift deployment and positioning to support business needs
Completing cash handling procedures, reconciliations, and safe counts
Monitoring inventory levels and minimizing waste
Ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace safety, and company procedures
Supporting restaurant performance targets and operational goals
Qualifications
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in food service, retail, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred
Food Safe Certificate preferred not required
First Aid Certificate preferred not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Prolonged standing and walking
Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Combination of hands-on operations and administrative responsibilities
Exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals
Fast-paced and dynamic restaurant environment
