Location: Wabamun, AB Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off Rotation Work Setting: On-Site Industrial Facility Pay Rate: CA$20.00 - CA$22.18 per hour Overview Paladin Security is seeking experienced and professional Security Guards to join our team at the TransAlta Industrial Site in Wabamun, Alberta . This role is ideal for security professionals who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are committed to maintaining a safe and secure workplace. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, perform proactive security patrols, respond to emergencies, and work closely with clients, emergency responders, and site personnel. This position offers an attractive 7-on/7-off schedule and the opportunity to work at a respected industrial facility. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors, and visitors Conduct proactive security patrols to ensure site safety and identify potential hazards or policy violations Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents in a timely and professional manner De-escalate crisis situations and coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and other emergency services as required Exercise crowd control and remove unauthorized individuals from site when necessary Complete detailed incident, liability, emergency, and daily activity reports Monitor and utilize CCTV, access control systems, radios, and computer applications Manage Lost & Found inquiries and property Maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility Enforce site rules, policies, and safety procedures Support emergency management and incident response activities Requirements Must Have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent Valid Alberta Security Services License Minimum 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in Canada Strong written and verbal English communication skills Minimum 1 year of security experience (2+ years preferred) Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays Physical fitness suitable for industrial security duties and extensive patrols Strong computer skills Experience using CCTV and Access Control systems Emergency management experience or knowledge Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to make sound decisions under pressure Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Creative problem-solving abilities Nice to Have Two or more years of security experience Previous industrial, utility, energy, or critical infrastructure security experience Experience working in command and control environments Emergency response or incident management experience Benefits Competitive hourly wages Consistent full-time schedule 7 Days On / 7 Days Off work rotation Ongoing training and professional development Career advancement opportunities Work with one of Canada's leading security providers Supportive team environment DailyPay Program – Access earned wages before payday DailyPay Program Paladin Security offers DailyPay , allowing employees to: Access earned wages before scheduled payday Track earnings in real time Withdraw available earnings when needed Improve financial flexibility between pay periods Hiring Process Candidates must successfully complete: Initial Paladin Security interview Secondary screening process Final interview and approval by TransAlta
