The workload for this position is forty (40) hours per week, twelve (12) months of the year. We're seeking a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, support day-to-day operations, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Applicants must have: Completed Grade 12 (Senior Secondary School Graduation); Interprovincial Heavy-Duty Service Technician Trade Certification with an Interprovincial Commercial Transport Vehicle Trade Certification; Class 1 or Class 2 Drivers license with Air Endorsement (or be willing to obtain); CNG Certificate; Proven experience and demonstrated skills in the use and techniques of tools, equipment and safety precautions pertaining to the use and maintenance of the district fleet vehicles and equipment; Practical experience with electronic system diagnosis, electronic injection systems, diesel, electric and natural gas powered vehicles, including vehicle components, such as air brake systems, automatic transmissions, air bag systems and hydraulic systems; Completed the required Health & Safety training. Applicants must be: Able to carry, lift, push and pull awkward or large heavy objects up to 50 lbs. or more; Flexible and adaptable to varied working conditions. Able to work with minimum supervision, alone and in a team orientated environment; Self-motivated.
