Wage per hour $19.85. Cogir Senior Living manages retirement residences across the country, offering independent living, assisted living and memory care. For over 25 years we have dedicated every day to the happiness of retirees.
We are hiring a Server in our bright and welcoming dining room. The compensation rate for this position will be the regular Server wage rate plus a $0.50 per hour premium, resulting in a starting hourly rate of $20.35.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, train and mentor the dining room team.
Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service.
Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees.
Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
Be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote them.
Attend in‑service training as required to better serve the needs of the residents.
Attend staff meetings to be aware of changes in the Residence.
Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy, particularly ethics, morality and integrity as set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct.
Complete all other tasks as assigned.
Required Education, Credentials and Experience
Ability to lead, support and motivate the dining room team effectively.
Strong leadership, supervisory and team‑management skills.
Proven experience in training, coaching and mentoring staff.
Commitment to delivering respectful, professional and attentive service.
Ability to effectively manage and oversee the expo station.
Excellent communication, collaboration and teamwork skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment.
Preference for individuals with prior experience in the food‑service industry and working with seniors.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of the shift.
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
