Job Title: Franchise Business Consultant – ON North
Type: Full‑Time | Permanent

Reports To: Regional Director, Franchise Store Operations
Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Director, the Franchise Business Consultant (“FBC”) is responsible for all operational activities and sales results in the district. Key areas of focus will be successful district system wide sales growth while meeting financial and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Drive system‑wide and wholesale sales and achieve company‑set targets.
Communicate product knowledge, metrics, and benefits to franchisees; support new product launches, pre‑books, store‑cost deals, and seasonal initiatives using company tools to ensure consistent messaging.
Act as a best‑practice consultant: review store practices, sales trends, merchandising, staffing, and training; recommend customized solutions to improve sales, profitability, and operational excellence.
Train, monitor, and enforce brand and operational standards outlined in the Franchise Agreement and Operations Manual; document and escalade SOP non‑compliance.
Orient and train new franchisees and ensure all applicable policies and procedures are followed.
Serve as the principal contact between franchisees and head office, collecting data, resolving issues, and advocating for franchisee needs.
Enforce outside purchases compliance through training, monitoring, and enforcement of regulations and brand standards.
Identify common issues and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve them efficiently.
Best Practices Consulting
Develop and implement individual business‑operational strategies aligned with company brand standards.
Analyze reports and gather insights to inform tailored recommendations.
Promote new marketing initiatives tied to franchisee business goals.
Consult on merchandising and store reset efforts to support new product launches.
Document and share best practices within the district; transfer successful strategies regionally.
Expect frequent store visits (3.5‑4 days per week, minimum every 6 weeks) and monthly follow‑ups.
Corporate Liaison
Escalate and communicate changes, resolve difficulties, and gather information on behalf of franchisees.
Monitor local competition and report relevant market activity (vacancies, construction, mall renovations, new home developments).
Coordinate key store activity tasks with cross‑functional partners (real estate, corporate, human resources).
Retail Operations Excellence
Train franchisee staff on point‑of‑sale, web ordering, and merchandising procedures.
Ensure mandatory learning assignments are completed and conduct quarterly audits of pricing and marketing.
Submit documentation of non‑compliance issues to the Regional Director.
Conduct quarterly Safe and Ready or Brand Standards audits.
Communication
Prepare and distribute required information to franchisees, including store‑specific reporting.
Review Pet Connect for updates and action items.
Participate in special projects as required.
Additional Skills

Prioritize day‑to‑day activities per business priorities.
Negotiate and influence others through effective written and verbal communication.
Adjust messaging to fit the audience and manage conflict.

Strong customer‑service orientation and sense of urgency.
Organized with excellent follow‑up to close issues quickly.
Technical proficiency and current driver’s license; able to drive, including overnight trips.
Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation
Targeted salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually. Final offer based on market location, relevant skills, experience, and internal equity.
