As part of the expansion plans in Canada, we are looking for experienced, energetic and passionate SHIFT LEAD. This position reports directly to the Store Manager.
Who are we looking for?
As the Shift Lead, you must be an exceptional leader who can motivate, inspire, and develop the store team while representing the Fox Clothing brand.
In collaboration with the Assistant and Store Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the financial success of the store; ensuring positive customer experiences; driving profitable top-line sales growth and coaching store associates to consistently provide customers with an exceptional fashion retail experience. The Shift Lead understands key business drivers and adjusts the business accordingly.
What skills should you have?
The Shift Lead must demonstrate a set of competencies/skills that establish them as a leader within the store. Competencies include:
People: Optimizes talent by developing direct reports and building effective teams. Influences people through effective communication and leading by example. Drives business with a vision and purpose.
As the manager on duty, the Shift Lead will maximize sales potential by coaching associates behaviors on the sales floor and fitting rooms.
Act as a role model for the in-store team by coaching and developing in order to maximize the success of all associates
Help manage controllable expenses by optimizing employee talent to minimize expenses
Results: Stays focused on performance. The Shift Lead drives results and assists with ensuring accountability to those results. You must be action oriented and resourceful!
Open and close the store as needed and act as management in the absence of the Assistant and Store Manager
Assist in meeting payroll goals by ensuring appropriate floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus in absence of the Assistant and Store Manager
Continuously ensure the correct replenishment of apparel, accessories, and new collections
Help build a team that works well together based on the needs of the store.
Be familiar with current collections, trends, and key pieces to maximize sales (new arrivals, best sellers, etc.)
Ensure visual and merchandising standards by directing merchandise flow, mannequins, and outfit displays
Ensure compliance with the store image, cleanliness, and window display standards
Assist in the control and management of stock (both in transit and in the stockroom) and inventories
Loss Prevention and Safety
Thought: Demonstrates understanding of the business through a strong customer focus, heightened business insight and financial acumen. Be able to make complex business decisions when the manager is not present by setting priorities and using strong decision making to act quickly.
Ensure clear and effective communication with the store team
Assist in the implementation of company strategies by setting expectations and ensuring accountability
Optimize selling space in order to obtain maximum profitability
Know the performance of product categories and displays in the store in order to maximize sales
Continuously ensure the correct replenishment of the store
Self: Remains flexible and adaptable all while being self-motivated and tenacious. The Shift Lead is resilient and maintains composure in all situations.
Provide and ensure exceptional, fashion-focused customer experiences consistently
Maintain Fox Clothing brand policies and procedures
Ensure correct execution of administrative tasks in line with business plans
The Shift Lead may perform other related duties, with customer service at the forefront, as required by the Company and/or field leadership.
A Shift Lead is not directly responsible for addressing the following; however, they may be exposed to these responsibilities through training and development by the Store Manager hiring/interviewing, performance management, setting schedules and termination.
What experience should you have?
Minimum of 1 years of supervisory experience in a comparable retailer with an emphasis on fashion/apparel
Demonstrated ability to achieve individual selling goals and metrics.
Proven ability to drive sales results, able to analyze selling reports, identify business trends and react quickly to the needs of the business
Comfort in making decisions and mediating conflict within a team-environment
Ability to address complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Ability to identify/assess top talent and train/develop/retain great people
Product awareness and commercial orientation with a passion for fashion
Customer and image-oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office suit products such as Excel, Word and Outlook
What are the physical requirements?
Ability to work a flex schedule (which may include nights, weekend and holiday availability)
Ability to bend, lift, open and move product and fixtures up to 50 lbs., as needed
Ability to climb step stools and ladders
Ability to stand/walk for long periods at a time
Possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to travel to other store locations (if needed) and attend district meetings
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for long periods of time. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers and management
Pay range: $18.00-20.00
