What You'll Do
As a
Fire Suppression Systems Installer
, you'll be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire suppression systems on vehicles, mobile equipment, and marine vessels, including tugboats and workboats.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Installing fire suppression systems on vehicles, heavy equipment, and marine vessels
Reading and interpreting installation drawings, schematics, hydraulic layouts, vessel plans, and manufacturer documentation
Installing and mounting cylinders, nozzles, detection tubing, pumps, reservoirs, injectors, discharge lines, actuation devices, and control panels
Routing and securing tubing, hoses, wiring, and system components to perform reliably in demanding environments
Performing commissioning, testing, calibration, and functional checks
Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system issues
Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Completing service reports, inspection records, and installation documentation accurately
Working closely with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure successful project completion
Maintaining tools, equipment, service vehicles, and an organized work area
Following all workplace, marine, environmental, and safety procedures

What You'll Bring
Minimum
2 years of experience
installing or servicing fire suppression systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, marine systems, or related equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical troubleshooting abilities
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer specifications
A commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Flexibility to travel and support customer needs as required
Knowledge of applicable fire codes and industry standards is considered an asset
A valid driver's licence
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical training in fire suppression systems, marine systems, automated lubrication systems, or a mechanical trade
Fire suppression certifications and related industry training
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current Certificate of Conduct and Driver's Abstract.
