Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager Job Description This contract Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager role supports a global, mid-sized organization with operations across multiple countries and entities. Over an initial two‑month term (with strong potential for extension and possible permanent conversion), you will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis activities, providing clear, actionable insights that help business leaders make informed decisions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, translate complex financial data into meaningful narratives, and enhance financial planning processes in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities Support and lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes across multiple entities in a global structure. Prepare detailed budget‑to‑actual analyses, including clear variance commentary that explains the drivers behind performance. Build, maintain, and refine financial and operational models to support decision‑making, including scenario analysis for new initiatives, product launches, and investments. Pull, validate, and analyze data from ERP and planning tools to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information. Produce clear, concise monthly FP&A reports for departments and the parent company, including updated forecasts and budget comparisons. Analyze departmental costs and project costings, comparing actuals to estimates and highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends for leadership. Partner closely with finance leadership and the existing FP&A team (Manager and Analyst) to prioritize work, complete ad hoc analyses, and add immediate capacity and stability. Support and update ongoing forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring timelines are met and stakeholders receive timely information. Work across approximately 10 entities in a multi‑country environment, consolidating and interpreting results for a global audience. Assist with business cases and financial evaluations for new initiatives, product launches, and capital or strategic investments. Translate complex financial concepts and data into clear, accessible insights for non‑financial stakeholders across departments. Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiency within FP&A workflows and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Support knowledge transfer and handover activities where possible to ensure continuity of FP&A processes. Collaborate frequently with cross‑functional teams, fostering strong relationships and ensuring financial perspectives inform business decisions. Essential Skills At least 5+ years of FP&A experience within a mid‑sized, globally distributed, multi‑entity organization, with direct ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Proven experience in multi‑entity and multi‑country environments, rather than single‑entity FP&A exposure. Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret and explain budget‑to‑actual variances and performance drivers. Hands‑on experience working with a Tier 1 ERP system (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft). Demonstrated ability to pull, validate, and analyze data from ERP and planning tools with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with automation and process efficiency initiatives within finance or FP&A functions. Ability to operate independently, proactively sourcing the information and data needed without heavy direction. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and accessible way to non‑financial stakeholders. Comfort working in a fast‑paced, global environment while maintaining a relentless focus on accuracy, detail, and meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to use tools to stay organized and prioritize tasks effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is an asset. Experience with Oracle NetSuite is strongly preferred. Experience with Adaptive Planning (including the Adaptive budgeting module) or similar financial planning tools such as Planful or Anaplan, ideally at a key user or administrator level. Experience with other large ERP platforms is considered an asset. Experience in technology or manufacturing industries is an advantage. Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting or advisory firm is beneficial. Proficiency with Google Workspace tools, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Demonstrated ability to move beyond the numbers to understand and articulate the ‘why’ behind business performance. Comfort interacting regularly with finance leadership and cross‑functional teams, rather than working solely in a heads‑down reporting capacity.
