Job Description
Department Overview The Wealth Management Finance department is accountable for the major financial functions of TD’s wealth management business, providing business planning, financial analysis, measurement, and decision support services. The Wealth Management Finance team works closely with the business and TD’s centralized financial expertise to provide quality expertise and advice to their Wealth Management clients, consistent with overall TD financial strategy and objectives. As part of TD Wealth Finance, the FP Finance team provides dedicated finance support to the Financial Planning business
Reporting to the Senior Group Manager, TD Wealth, Direct Investing and Financial Planning Finance, this role will support all aspects of Forecast/Plan/MTO and strategic decision making for the FP business.
This role will be responsible for supporting the FP business through financial leadership and ensuring that balance growth and profitability strategies are planned and achieved.
The successful candidate must have strong financial acumen and a good understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with TD’s financial systems is an asset, as is experience in the Wealth Management industry.
Specific responsibilities include:
Lead the quarterly forecasting, annual planning, business casing, and medium-term outlooks in support of TD FP while also finding opportunities to enhance surrounding processes
Oversee completion of the monthly reporting packages and design value-added management reporting to provide insightful interpretation of key business drivers underlying the business results, highlight key issues and make appropriate recommendations where required
Production and presentation of executive-level material to CFO, Wealth and VPs/EVP, and responding to specific questions
Conduct insightful, driver-based analysis of the FP business revenues, expenses, including FTE
Provide support to business leaders in developing strategic priorities and defining long-term business objectives while effectively communicating relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
Coordinate with various stakeholders across product, strategy, business development, contact centre and marketing to collect, analyze and compile forecast / budget information
Take an active role in providing financial inputs and reviewing business cases and strategic initiatives as part of the Wealth Management project governance process
Effectively communicate relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
Act as subject matter expert for own area. Provide guidance, advice, and recommendations to support dealings with internal and external partners
Active participation in Finance initiatives and pan-Wealth projects (where appropriate)
Ad-hoc work related to the Direct Investing business may be required to support the broader team

Strong leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven ability act as a respectful "challenger" to provide alternate points of view and/or facilitate decision making
Proven track record of providing value added Finance support through initiative and creativity
Strong inter-personal skills, including strong relationship-building skills to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to proactively follow through on identified issues and work toward resolution
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Outlook and MS Copilot
Knowledge of EPM, Hyperion, MS Power BI, and Tableau would be an asset
Education and Accreditation
University/College education with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business Accounting or financial designation (CPA/CFA) would be an asset
7+ years of relevant experience in Finance
Other Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
