As theFieldTechnician, you will be responsible for mapping fields, soil sampling, and assisting in the fields, which is an integral part of the SWAT process at Croptimistic. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be a member on the Farmer Services team while communicating with multiple departments and learning about our SWAT ECOSYSTEM. Responsibilities Map fields, collecting geo-referenced electrical conductivity, RTK elevation, and fieldboundaries Soil sample fields using SWAT MAPS, following GPS-referenced points Assist with agronomy work, including in-season variable-rate field assessments and reports, plant stand counts, insect and disease scouting Assist GIS with making prescription files and yield and data cleaning Prep variable rate and SWAT CAM reports Champion the brand Assist with weather station install, removal, and maintenance if requested Requirements Flexible, with an ability to pivot depending on seasonalneeds Able to work independently High-level of integrity and commitment to providing unrivaled service Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to twist the upper body, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks such as digging Basic mechanical knowledge and/or experience considered an asset Relevant education and/or experience in agriculture, with knowledge of Western Canadian agriculture specifically, would be advantageous Class 5 drivers license (abstract may be requested) Ability to work overtime in peak seasons (Spring & Fall) including Saturdays Able to travel, including overnight stays Benefits Professional development with growth opportunities Matching RRSP program Group benefits plan including Life, Long Term Disability, Extended Health & Dental Bank & personal time Home office, internet & cell phone subsidies Truck provided for work-related travel & activities
