The Role Our client is a leader in environmental acoustics and sound masking solutions, specializing in engineered audio systems designed to improve workplace acoustics, reduce distractions, and enhance productivity in commercial and office environments. We are seeking a hands-on and technically skilled Field Service Technician to join our client’s growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems on-site, and working directly with installation drawings and system specifications. You will be responsible for installing, wiring, configuring, and tuning sound masking systems across various client sites. Work includes both mechanical and technical installation of equipment such as speakers, hubs, and cabling, often within finished office spaces or active construction environments. You will also be responsible for programming and tuning systems using specialized software to ensure optimal acoustic performance. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients while on-site. Advantages $30 – $40 hourly pay rate Overtime paid after 44 hours Company vehicle provided (take-home vehicle) Day shift schedule: typically 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Occasional after-hours work depending on project completion 2 weeks vacation Benefits package (medical, dental, etc.) Long-term opportunity with a growing technical organization Great compnay culture Responsibilities Perform on-site installation of sound masking systems across commercial client locations Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans Install speakers, cabling, hubs, and related hardware in ceilings, walls, and drywall spaces Complete mechanical and electrical-style installations in both construction and finished environments Configure, program, and tune systems using proprietary software to optimize acoustic performance Troubleshoot and resolve installation or system issues on-site Travel to job sites across the GTA and throughout Ontario (majority in Toronto area) Maintain company vehicle and ensure proper use of tools and equipment Communicate professionally with clients and tenants Provide basic end-user training on system functionality when required Complete service documentation and basic administrative updates using computer systems/email Requirements 2+ years of experience in a field service, installation, electrical, or mechanical hands-on role Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans Strong mechanical aptitude with comfort working in construction or finished spaces Experience with cabling, low-voltage systems, or audio/technical installations is an asset Ability to work independently and manage job sites without direct supervision Strong communication skills and professional client-facing approach Basic computer skills (email, documentation, software tools) Willingness to travel across Ontario and work at multiple job sites Valid driver’s license with clean abstract required Clear criminal background (CPIC required) Physically capable of installation work (lifting, ladder work, ceiling/wall work) #INDSTRIVEON #LI-SR
