JOB SUMMARY
The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing company
owned rental equipment and products at the depot. This role diagnoses technical issues, performs
equipment inspections and battery replacements, and monitoring systems, and ensures accurate
documentation of service activities. This is a 6-month contract role, with potential for contract extension.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Field Service Technician, you will:
Attend site visits for installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks of Company owned rental
equipment and customer owned product
Inspect equipment to diagnose errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions
Training of Camera system, PVMS, traffic signal, radar trailer, TC-12
Changing batteries on PVMS trailers, Camera trailers and Sensor units. (65 lb. each)
Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
Complete documentation (i.e. QA, inventory, work tickets, etc.)
Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems
Follow all companys safety procedures and protocols
Build positive relationships
Other duties as assigned to support business needs
QUALIFICATIONS (OR KEY SKILLS, COMPETENCIES)
You have:
Valid full G class drivers license and clean drivers abstract
Ability to travel to the Mississauga depot weekly (1-3 days per week)
Experience in the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and calibration of mechanical and electrical
components and equipment
Experience in welding and fabrication is an asset
Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools
Forklift license or experience is an asset
Excellent communication skills including reading, writing, verbal, and comprehension
Ability to collaborate with a team or independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work varying work hours including a rotating on-call schedule to service business needs
and emergencies
Field equipment repair/ maintenance experience is an asset
Work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions
Periods of standing or sitting
Hours of work and work assignments may vary for operational reasons
Traffic management services may be delivered seven days a week and 24 hours a day
